Our client, a well-established and growing logistics business, is currently seeking an experienced Trailer Mechanic to join their Vehicle Maintenance team based in Dartford.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled mechanic looking to work within a modern fleet operation, carrying out maintenance and repairs on a large trailer fleet while enjoying a great work-life balance with no weekend work.
The Role
As a Trailer Mechanic, you will be responsible for ensuring trailers remain roadworthy, compliant, and operational through preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs.
Key responsibilities include:
* Carrying out routine trailer maintenance and repairs.
* Completing Preventative Maintenance Inspections (PMIs).
* Diagnosing and rectifying trailer defects.
* Repairing or replacing lights, lenses, curtains, mirrors, mudguards, landing legs, and associated trailer components.
* Responding to vehicle defects and supporting operational teams with urgent repairs where required.
* Completing maintenance records and inspection documentation accurately.
* Maintaining a safe and organised workshop environment.
* Ensuring all work is completed in line with current legislation and compliance standards.
About You
To be considered for this role, you will ideally have:
* Previous experience as a Trailer Mechanic, Trailer Technician, HGV Technician, Fleet Technician, or similar.
* Experience carrying out trailer PMIs and safety inspections.
* Good understanding of trailer maintenance and compliance requirements.
* Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* A proactive approach with excellent attention to detail.
* Full UK Driving Licence.
