Quality Engineer

Owen Daniels are supporting a leading automotive manufacturer is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to join their established quality team.

This role will suit a quality professional with strong customer-facing experience and a proven background managing quality activities from new product introduction through to series production. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting customers, driving quality improvements and ensuring compliance with automotive quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead customer quality activities and act as the main point of contact for quality-related issues.
Support APQP activities throughout the product lifecycle.
Prepare and submit PPAP documentation in line with customer requirements.
Investigate quality concerns using structured problem-solving techniques and implement corrective actions.
Conduct internal and external quality audits.
Review engineering drawings and specifications, applying strong GD&T knowledge.
Work closely with Manufacturing, Engineering and Supply Chain teams to improve product and process quality.
Support continuous improvement initiatives across the business.The Candidate:

Experience in a Quality Engineer position within automotive manufacturing.
Strong front-end/customer quality experience.
Good working knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FMEA and Core Tools.
Strong understanding of GD&T and interpretation of engineering drawings.
Experience of 8D, Root Cause Analysis and corrective action processes.
Knowledge of IATF 16949 would be advantageous.
