Structural Engineer

Our client, a well-established structural engineering consultancy based on the outskirts of Birmingham, is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to join their growing team.
This opportunity would suit a degree-qualified engineer with a minimum of five years' post-graduate experience who is looking to take ownership of projects and work with a high degree of autonomy. The successful candidate will be involved in the design and delivery of a diverse range of projects across the education, healthcare, residential and commercial sectors.
Key Responsibilities
Undertaking structural design and analysis for a variety of building projects
Designing all principal structural elements in accordance with current UK standards and regulations
Preparing structural calculations, technical reports and supporting design documentation
Liaising with clients, architects, contractors and other members of the design team
Attending site visits and project meetings as required
Managing workload effectively and delivering projects with minimal supervision
Candidate Requirements
Degree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering
Minimum of 5 years' structural engineering experience gained within the UK
Demonstrable experience designing all major structural elements
Proven ability to work independently and confidently manage projects
Experience across education, healthcare, residential and commercial developments
Strong knowledge of UK construction methods, Building Regulations and British Standards
Excellent communication and organisational skills
