The Opportunity
A leading multidisciplinary building services consultancy is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join its growing London team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious engineer looking to take a leading role on a diverse portfolio of residential and commercial projects while contributing to the technical development of both projects and people.
The successful candidate will provide technical leadership across mechanical building services design, managing projects from concept through to completion while mentoring junior engineers and supporting the continued growth of the business.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the mechanical discipline on a range of residential and commercial projects.
Deliver innovative and technically robust building services design solutions.
Manage and coordinate multiple projects, ensuring delivery to programme, budget, and quality expectations.
Act as a key point of contact for clients, consultants, and project stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineers, graduates, and apprentices.
Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the team.
Work collaboratively with electrical, public health, sustainability, and structural teams to overcome multidisciplinary engineering challenges.
Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with company procedures, technical standards, and industry regulations.
Monitor document control processes and design management procedures.About You
Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline.
Proven experience delivering residential and commercial building services projects.
At least 5 years of experience working within another consultancy
Strong understanding of HVAC systems, mechanical design principles, and UK building regulations.
Experience leading projects and coordinating multidisciplinary design teams.
Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
Passion for mentoring and developing junior engineers.
Working towards or already achieved Chartered Engineer status through CIBSE, IMechE, IET, or an equivalent professional body.What's on Offer
