Wolviston Management Services are supporting a leading facilities management provider in the recruitment of a Mechanical Maintenance Operative to join their team within a healthcare environment.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced mechanical engineer looking for a secure role, with the potential to be taken on permanently for the right candidate.
The Role
As a Mechanical Maintenance Operative, you will carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance and minor installation works across a busy healthcare site.
You will play a vital role in ensuring all mechanical building services are maintained safely, efficiently and in line with statutory compliance and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out PPM and reactive maintenance on mechanical building services
Perform fault finding, repairs and minor installation works
Maintain systems including DHW, LPHW, CHW and ventilation
Support pipe fitting and general mechanical maintenance tasks
Ensure all works are completed safely and in line with H&S and infection control procedures
Liaise with on-site departments to minimise disruption
Maintain accurate job records and documentation
Undertake risk assessments and follow safe working practices
Work collaboratively with colleagues and other trades
Participate in on-call rota and respond to out-of-hours issues
About You
We're looking for a reliable and skilled engineer with a strong background in mechanical maintenance within a similar environment.
Essential requirements:
NVQ Level 3 in Maintenance Services (or equivalent)
Previous experience within a maintenance environment
Experience working with mechanical systems including DHW, LPHW, CHW and ventilation
Strong fault-finding and repair skills
Ability to work independently and within a team Desirable:
Experience with steam systems
Previous pipe fitting experience Additional Requirements
Enhanced DBS is essential
PPE will be provided
Willingness to join the out-of-hours call-out rota (additional payment applies)
1 in 5 rotation
Monday to Sunday
22:00 - 06:00 What's on Offer
