Job Title: Mobile Maintenance Electrician (AST)

Location: York / Hull

Contract Type: Permanent

Working Hours: 40 Hours Per Week

Salary: £41,325 Total Salary (Inclusive of Standby (1:4 x 13 Periods) & Competency Payement*)

An exciting opportunity has emerged for an experienced Mobile Maintenance Electrician (AST) to join our company to work with one of our major UK supermarket clients.

This is a key position, carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across a number of site locations. You will be the first line in all maintenance issues throughout your allocated sites.

This role also provides reactive and planned maintenance to food services and catering equipment for which training is provided, specialist attendance again may be required following initial callout.

The purpose of this role is to carry out technical repairs and PPM’s. You will ensure that all technical and compliance paperwork is completed and up to date at all times. All work will be completed to the highest standards in an efficient and cost-effective manner, whilst complying with all Health and Safety legislation.

Key Responsibilities:

* Prioritise maintenance and repair work to achieve agreed timescales and response times. Complete all necessary PPM’s and reactive maintenance schedules within agreed timescales and to ensure all necessary paperwork is completed accurately and as required.

* Complete the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule within agreed timescales and to ensure all necessary paperwork is completed accurately.

* Respond promptly and positively to service call requests from the Helpdesk and to assess the requirements of the job and carry out repairs as and where necessary.

* Identify nonrepairable faults in plant and machinery and promptly advise the Line Manager of findings, with recommendations regarding suitable replacement.

* Advise the onsite customer (manager) of any repair and maintenance issues that are likely to affect the smooth running of the site.

* Carry out surveys and complete reports as required by City management.

* Work with company and customer employees to ensure laiddown standards of quality are maintained at all times.

* Carry out minor alterations and installations within the individual’s technical competence in accordance with current specifications.

* Complete general repairs and maintenance on trained Food Services assets (catering and bakery equipment).

* Comply with the BER policy and guidelines on managing catering and bakery assets.

* Complete general repairs and maintenance to customer sites as designated by City management.

* Represent the company in a professional manner at all times and develop a good working relationship with City and customer employees.

* Monitor and update the Mercury system including live job updates.

Other:

* To undertake any other reasonable duties and/or responsibilities as may be required.

* You will be part of a 1 in 4 standby oncall rota.

Qualifications / Experience:

NVQ Level 3/City and guilds 236 Part 1 + 2 or equivalent in electrical Installation / Maintenance. (essential)

City and Guilds 18th Edition. (essential)

AM2 / 2391 (essential)

*An additional £1,500 competency payment will be added to the basic salary upon completion of electrical fault training for catering and bakery equipment. The training, provided by the employer during the probation period, includes two one-week training blocks.

The ideal candidate:

Full driving license.

Experience using a PDA system.

Ability to maintain and repair a wide range of electrical and mechanical equipment, e.g. commercial catering/bakery.

Carried out PPM and reactive maintenance within a similar retail environment.
