The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Accountant to join a well-established and growing organisation. This position is ideally suited to someone looking to further develop their accounting career within a supportive finance team.

This is not just a transactional accounting role; it is a genuine development opportunity that will provide exposure to a broad range of financial responsibilities, business partnering activities, and international finance support.

Full training and mentoring will be provided, making it an excellent opportunity for an AAT-qualified or part-qualified accounting professional looking to expand their technical knowledge and progress towards a more senior finance position.
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will work closely with multiple departments and overseas colleagues, gaining valuable experience across management accounting, financial reporting, forecasting, audit preparation, payroll, stock accounting, and business analysis.

Key Responsibilities
As part of your development, you will gain hands-on experience across a wide range of finance activities, including:
Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial forecasts.
Supporting the year-end audit process, including the preparation of documentation and responding to auditor enquiries.
Maintaining monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
Preparing and submitting VAT returns.
Supporting monthly and annual stock take activities.
Maintaining the fixed asset register.
Producing financial analysis and management reports.
Assisting with standard costing processes for product lines.
Setting up and maintaining customer accounts.
Supporting sales invoicing activities across multiple business entities.
Processing employee expenses and company credit card transactions.
Managing foreign currency petty cash.
Assisting with monthly payroll processing.
Working collaboratively with finance colleagues and wider business teams to improve financial processes and reporting.

About You
We are seeking a motivated and career-focused individual who is keen to develop their accounting knowledge and take on increasing responsibility over time.
Essential Skills & Experience
Previous experience within a finance or accounts environment.
Exposure to the preparation or support of monthly management accounts.
AAT qualified, or part-qualified CIMA, ACCA, ACA, or equivalent.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to build positive working relationships across departments.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Good Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to work with intermediate-level spreadsheets.
A proactive approach and a willingness to learn and develop professionally.
Desirable Skills & Experience
Experience using ERP or finance systems.
Understanding of multi-entity or consolidated accounts.
Payroll experience.
Experience working within a manufacturing, distribution, or product-based environment.
