Infrastructure Engineer

Location: Sheffield
Job Type: Permanent
Salary: £40,000 - 50,000 + Benefits

An established multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy is looking to appoint an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to join its Sheffield office.

This is an excellent opportunity for an Infrastructure Engineer with strong residential and commercial infrastructure design experience, particularly across drainage, highways, SuDS and adoptable works.

The Role

As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will be involved in the design and delivery of a wide range of civil infrastructure projects. Your responsibilities will include:

*

Designing and delivering fully compliant drainage systems, including SuDS

*

Producing external works designs and site levels for residential and commercial developments

*

Preparing highway designs, including vertical and horizontal geometry

*

Working on adoptable highways and drainage schemes, including S278, S38, S104 and S185 agreements

*

Using drainage and infrastructure design software, including MicroDrainage / InfoDrainage

*

Ideally using Civil 3D, as well as other packages such as AutoCAD, PDS, Site3D, FLOW and WinDes

*

Preparing technical schedules and supporting project documentation

*

Attending meetings with clients, consultants, contractors and other professionals where required

*

Ensuring work is delivered to agreed deadlines, budgets and quality standards

*

Liaising with directors and senior colleagues on key design and project decisions

*

Coordinating with other members of the project team

*

Supporting and mentoring Graduate Engineers where required

*

Continuing your professional development and working towards Chartered Engineer status, where applicable

About You

The successful Infrastructure Engineer will ideally have:

*

A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related discipline

*

A minimum of 5 years’ experience in infrastructure design

*

Strong drainage and highway design experience

*

Residential infrastructure design experience

*

Experience designing to adoptable standards, including S38, S278, S104 and S185

*

Good working knowledge of MicroDrainage and/or InfoDrainage

*

Civil 3D experience would be highly beneficial

*

Experience using AutoCAD and other relevant infrastructure design software

*

Good communication skills and the ability to liaise with clients and project teams

*

Chartered status, or be actively working towards chartership with ICE
