The Role

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Mechanical Estimator / Senior Estimator to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will play a key part in the success of our projects by producing accurate and competitive cost estimates for mechanical installations, working closely with suppliers, and supporting the sales team in delivering compelling client proposals.

Key Responsibilities

* Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and heating.

* Review technical drawings, specifications, and project documentation to establish material, labour, and equipment requirements.

* Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive quotations and undertake thorough cost analysis.

* Collaborate with the sales team to develop high-quality, client-focused proposals and presentations.

* Carry out occasional site visits to assess project requirements and ensure estimates are robust.

* Identify cost-saving opportunities and innovative solutions to support continuous improvement.

* Ensure all estimating work complies with industry standards, regulations, and company procedures.

What We’re Looking For

* Proven experience in mechanical estimating within the construction or building services sector.

* Strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and heating.

* Excellent analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.

* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications confidently.

* Proficiency in estimating software and the full Microsoft Office Suite. Preferably experience with Ensign or similar tools.

* A proactive, team-oriented approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently when required.
