Site Manager / General Foreman – Kilmarnock
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Site Manager / General Foreman to join an established construction team on an ongoing basis in Kilmarnock.
This is a hands-on role that would suit someone with a strong background in site operations, supervision, and workforce coordination. While the position carries the responsibilities expected of a Site Manager, there will also be occasions where practical involvement on site is required, making it ideal for candidates who have progressed from a trades or construction background and are comfortable leading by example.
Key Responsibilities:
* Day-to-day management and supervision of site activities.
* Coordinating subcontractors, operatives, and deliveries.
* Ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to programme.
* Maintaining high standards of health, safety, quality, and housekeeping.
* Conducting site inspections, toolbox talks, and briefings.
* Monitoring progress and reporting to senior management.
* Assisting with practical site duties when required to support project delivery.
* Managing site documentation and ensuring compliance with company procedures.
Candidate Requirements:
* Previous experience in a Site Manager, General Foreman, or similar supervisory role.
* Strong understanding of construction site operations and best practices.
* Hands-on construction experience preferred.
* Ability to manage teams effectively and maintain productivity.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
* Valid SMSTS or SSSTS certification preferred.
* CSCS card required.
* First Aid certification advantageous.
* Full UK driving licence preferred.
