An opportunity has become available for an experienced HGV Technician to join a Local Authority on a temp-to-perm basis in Rotherham. Working a 37-hour week with sociable daytime hours, you will be responsible for carrying out inspections, diagnostics, repairs and MOT preparation to ensure vehicle availability and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Provide a high standard of fault diagnosis
Carry out periodic safety inspections to DVSA inspection manual standards
Complete PDI inspections
Conduct decommissioning inspections and repairs
Prepare vehicles for MOT
Present vehicles for annual MOT inspections
Carry out repairs to minimise vehicle downtime

Requirements

City & Guilds, IMI Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair
Full UK Driving Licence
Category C licence or willingness to obtain this within the first year of employment
Previous experience carrying out diagnostics, inspections and repairs
Understanding of DVSA inspection standards

Salary & Benefits

£23.86 Ltd per hour (£20.47 PAYE equivalent)
Temp to Perm opportunity
37 hours per week
Monday to Thursday: 10:00 – 18:00
Friday: 10:30 – 18:00
Holiday allowance
Sociable working hours
Overtime available
