Setting Out Engineer (Groundworks – Housing)
Location: Yorkshire (Market Weighton & Pocklington)
Rate: £200 - £250 per day
Duration: Minimum 18 months
Role Overview
The Setting Out Engineer will be responsible for delivering accurate setting out across housing groundworks projects, supporting site delivery through precise surveying and quality assurance, ensuring works are completed in line with drawings, specifications, and programme requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out all setting out duties across residential groundworks projects, including foundations, drainage, roads, plots, and associated infrastructure, ensuring accuracy of line, level, and positioning at all stages of construction. Establish and maintain control points, datums, and grid lines to support site operations.
Undertake quality assurance checks across completed works, ensuring compliance with drawings and specifications. Complete QA documentation, inspections and as-built records, maintaining accurate site engineering records throughout the project lifecycle.
Work closely with site management and subcontractors to ensure works are installed correctly and in line with programme requirements. Identify and resolve technical issues, raise RFIs where required, and provide engineering support to site teams.
Carry out site surveys, material take-offs, and assist with coordination of works to ensure efficient delivery. Ensure all activities are conducted in line with health and safety requirements and approved method statements
