Field Service Engineer (Batteries / Power Systems)We are working in partnership with a well-established, employee-owned engineering business to recruit a Field Service Engineer (Batteries / Power Systems) This is an excellent opportunity to join a close-knit, supportive team within a growing organisation that specialises in industrial power solutions.
This is a field-based role requiring extensive UK travel, with regular overnight stays. While most work is currently London-based, this position is focused on candidates located across the Midlands and surrounding regions due to future project locations.
The RoleReporting to the Service Manager and Lead Service Engineer, you will be responsible for the installation, servicing, and maintenance of industrial battery chargers and associated systems.
Key responsibilities include:
Carrying out planned maintenance on industrial battery chargers
Battery replacement and electromechanical installation on customer sites
Electrical and electronic fault finding
Completing accurate service documentation and reports
Conducting site surveys for asset management purposes
Providing technical support to customers and internal teams
Identifying potential sales opportunities during site visits
Maintaining high standards of professionalism, safety, and quality at all times

Essential:
Electrical or electronic background
Strong fault-finding skills
CSCS card
Experience in electromechanical installation or site-based work
Comfortable with regular travel and overnight stays
IT literate (Microsoft 365 and general reporting systems)
Desirable:
Experience with SLA, NiCd, or Plante batteries
18th Edition or BS2391-50
Industry accreditations (e.g. UKPN, National Grid, LU)
Personal Attributes

Self-disciplined and organised
Strong attention to detail
Analytical and practical problem solver
Team-oriented with a positive, flexible approach
