Vehicle Technician – Local Authority (Temp-to-Perm) | Halifax | Contract (2 weeks)
Service Care Solutions is seeking an experienced Vehicle Technician to join a Local Authority in Halifax for a short contract period (2 weeks) with a strong temp-to-perm pathway. This role is ideal for a Vehicle Technician who enjoys varied fleet work, planned maintenance, and responsive repairs—working Monday to Friday with sociable hours.
Candidate Responsibilities
As a Vehicle Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining a varied fleet safely, efficiently, and to required standards, including:
Carry out planned maintenance and responsive repairs to HGVs, light commercial vehicles, cars, accessible buses, plant, and equipment
Diagnose and repair faults on vehicles, plant, and equipment
Provide prompt response to breakdowns when instructed
Attend breakdowns and accidents when required
Complete MOT tests on Class IV, V and VII vehicles
Conduct private hire and hackney carriage compliance tests
Ensure all work is completed safely, accurately, and within compliance requirementsRequired Candidate Profile
To succeed as a Vehicle Technician, you must have:
Nominee MOT Tester status covering Class IV, V and VII vehicles
City & Guilds Motor Vehicle Technician qualification or NVQ Level 2 equivalent
Hands-on experience repairing and maintaining a range of vehicles and equipment
Ability to work safely and effectively in a fleet maintenance environmentBenefits
£21.60 Ltd per hour (PAYE equivalent £18.53 per hour)
£250 Training Allowance
Daily Payroll Runs
Holiday allowance
