Job Title: Learning Support Assistant
Location: Cardiff

Salary: £14.25 per hour

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist ASD base in Cardiff, supporting children and young people with additional learning needs. The provision promotes a nurturing and inclusive environment where pupils are encouraged to develop confidence, independence and essential life skills through tailored support.
The ASD base is looking to appoint a full-time Learning Support Assistant on a temporary basis. The successful Learning Support Assistant will provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with ASD, helping them access learning, develop social skills and maintain positive engagement throughout the school day.
The successful Learning Support Assistant will have:
• Experience working with children, young people, or adults with ASD or additional learning needs
• Experience within a support work, care, residential, or educational setting
• A patient, empathetic and nurturing approach
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• The ability to remain calm and resilient in challenging situations
• A genuine passion for supporting children and young people
