We're recruiting a Design & Technology Technician to support a busy and well-resourced department at a secondary school in Hemel Hempstead.
This role is ideal for someone hands-on, organised and confident working in a practical learning environment.
Working as a Design & Technology Technician you'll play a key role in ensuring lessons are fully prepared, safe and engaging for students.
The role
You will:
Prepare, set up and test materials, tools and equipment for practical lessons and assessments
Support teaching staff and students during practical sessions
Maintain, organise and store tools, machinery and materials
Coordinate repairs, servicing and maintenance of equipment
Monitor stock levels and manage ordering processes
Keep accurate financial and inventory records
Support the ongoing development of DT facilitiesHealth & Safety
You will:
Maintain H&S records (Risk Assessments, COSHH, equipment checks, LEV, audits)
Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations
Liaise with site staff and external contractors where requiredWhat we're looking for
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Practical, hands-on approach
Ability to manage workload independently
Strong communication and teamwork skills
