📍 Location: Croydon (BWH) - Hybrid Working
💼 Contract Type:
1 x 6‑month contract
🕒 Hours: 36 hours per week
Working ArrangementThis is a hybrid role based in Croydon.
First 2 weeks: On‑site at BWH, Croydon while training is completed
After training: Up to 2 days per week working from home
About the Role
We are recruiting Children's Payments Officers to ensure robust, timely, and compliant financial processes across Children's Services.
The role covers supplier engagement, invoice processing, payments, monitoring, and service support, working closely with internal teams and external providers.
Key Responsibilities
Supplier onboarding and set‑up
Processing invoices and resolving queries
Correcting costs and chasing invoices / credit notes
Supporting payment runs, emergency, cash, and voucher payments
Recording and processing children's savings
Compliance monitoring, recharging, and accruals support
Contributing to continuous improvement across the service
About You
You will have proven experience delivering financial and payment services within a children's services environment, working collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders.
Essential Requirements
Strong understanding of children & families services, finance policy, legislation, and practice
In‑depth working knowledge of children's finance systems - ideally ContrOCC
Knowledge of children's social care finance legislation
Excellent communication, accuracy, and problem‑solving skills
Additional Information
All interviews will be conducted in person at BWH, Croydon
