Job Title: Clinical Coder

Hours: Availability 7 days a week – hours to suit

Location: Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust

Trust Location: Rotherham Hospital Moorgate Road, Rotherham, S60 2UD

Contract Type: Temporary – 6 months

What you’ll be responsible for:

· Providing an efficient and high-quality clinical coding service to support the business needs of the Trust.

· Ensure timely and accurate high quality coded data adhering to ICD10 and OPCS4 classifications to record diagnoses and procedures for all in-patient and day case admissions to meet local and national coding deadlines.

· Provide accurate information to support Healthcare Resource Groups in facilitating the commissioning process within the NHS.

· Effectively manage assigned workload to ensure all internal and national commissioning coding deadlines and the Trust’s internal clinical coding targets and standards are met.

· Apply knowledge to extract, analyse and translate both routine and complex cases, assign, and verify codes whilst achieving high levels of accuracy adhering to national coding standards

You’ll learn the following whilst working at the trust:

· An in depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities involved in working within the NHS

· Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times

· A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation

You’ll have the following skills/experience:

· Extensive knowledge / background of coding in an acute NHS hospital

· Ability to code complex cases to a high level of accuracy

· Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy & physiology

· Experience using Solventum Encoder

This role may require you to show evidence of Clinical Coding accreditation or at least 2 years relevant experience.
