Location: Bromley
Working Pattern: On Site

We are seeking a qualified Occupational Therapist to provide specialist support to children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) across primary, secondary, and post‑16 settings in Bromley. The role involves delivering high‑quality occupational therapy assessments, intervention planning, and functional recommendations that promote participation, independence, and access to learning. You will work collaboratively with schools, families, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure students receive effective, holistic support tailored to their developmental and educational needs.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct specialist OT assessments for students with a range of SEN, including autism, developmental delays, sensory needs, physical disabilities, and learning difficulties.
Develop evidence‑based intervention plans to support functional skills, sensory regulation, motor development, and engagement in school routines.
Provide clear written recommendations for EHCPs, annual reviews, and school‑based support plans.
Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, families, and MDT professionals to ensure integrated, student‑centred support.
Deliver targeted interventions individually or in small groups across primary to post‑16 settings.
Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with safeguarding, GDPR, and professional standards.
Requirements
BSc/MSc in Occupational Therapy.
HCPC registration (essential).
Minimum 2 years' experience working with children and young people with SEND.
Experience supporting students across primary, secondary, or post‑16 education.
Strong assessment, clinical reasoning, and report‑writing skills.
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
Professional indemnity & public liability insurance.Desirable
Membership of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists (RCOT).
Experience in mainstream, specialist, or alternative provision settings.
Knowledge of sensory integration, autism, neurodevelopmental conditions, or physical disabilities.
Experience delivering training or workshops to school staff or families.Additional Information
Consultancy position with flexible working.
Travel to schools/settings may be required.
