Job Title: Carpentry Tutor

Salary: From £30,000 per annum

Contract: Permanent, Full-Time

The Opportunity

Are you an experienced Carpenter looking to step off the site and make a real difference? Or an instructor looking for a highly rewarding, stable new teaching environment?

We are recruiting for a passionate Carpentry Tutor to join a leading training and education provider within a secure youth custodial setting. In this role, you will work with small groups of young learners, helping them develop practical joinery and woodworking skills. Your knowledge will give them the tools, confidence, and qualifications they need to discover their potential and build a stable career path for the future.

What You Will Be Doing

Practical Training: Deliver engaging Carpentry courses and hands-on training to small groups of learners.

Tailored Guidance: Set up individual training plans, ensuring learners have the right advice, support, and motivation to succeed.

Skill Building: Help learners develop positive workplace behaviours, teamwork, and trade knowledge alongside their practical qualifications.

Positive Environment: Maintain a safe, structured, and encouraging workshop space that keeps young learners focused and inspired.

What We Are Looking For

Trade Expertise: A Level 2 (or higher) vocational qualification in Carpentry or Joinery, backed up by substantial practical experience on the tools.

Delivery Skills: Experience delivering trade-based training, tutoring, or mentoring others.

Adaptability: The ability to use a variety of practical training methods to engage young people with diverse learning needs.

No Teaching Qualification? No Problem! If you have the trade expertise, our client will fully fund, support, and guide you to achieve your teaching or assessing qualifications during your probationary period.

Why Apply?

This is a fantastic opportunity to secure a stable career with regular daytime hours, no site travel, and zero call-outs. You will be joining an established, Gold-accredited 'Investors in People' organisation that genuinely invests in your career development, well-being, and professional progression.
