Works Manager – Civil Engineering
Shrewsbury
£60,000 - £75,000 + Vehicle/Allowance + Bonus + Lodge Allowance
We are recruiting for an experienced Works Manager to join a leading civil engineering contractor delivering major infrastructure and renewable energy projects across the UK.
The successful candidate will play a key role in the safe and efficient delivery of large-scale projects, leading site operations and managing labour, plant and resources to ensure works are completed to programme and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage day-to-day site operations and project delivery
• Coordinate labour, plant, materials and subcontractors
• Lead site briefings, toolbox talks and safety initiatives
• Monitor project progress and report to senior management
• Ensure compliance with RAMS, HSEQ procedures and client requirements
• Support planning and resource allocation activities
• Mentor and supervise site teams and junior personnel
• Maintain accurate site records and documentation
Requirements:
• Previous experience as a Works Manager within civil engineering or infrastructure
• CPCS Managers & Professionals qualification
• SMSTS and First Aid certification
• Strong leadership and resource management skills
• Experience managing self-delivery civil engineering projects
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Willingness to travel and stay away when required
Desirable:
• Temporary Works experience
• Lift Supervisor or Appointed Person qualification
• Renewable energy or major infrastructure project experience
Package:
