Process Engineer – Water Treatment / Energy Sector
Location: Walsall (Hybrid – 2 days office based)

About the Role Able Consult is recruiting a skilled Process Engineer for a leading engineering company specializing in water treatment systems for the energy sector. This is an excellent opportunity to work on power generation, oil & gas, petrochemical, and municipal water projects across the UK and internationally.
You will be involved in process design, commissioning, and technical support for advanced pure water treatment technologies such as Reverse Osmosis (RO), Ion Exchange, and Electro deionisation (EDI).
Key Responsibilities
* Design and optimize water treatment processes using industry standard tools.
* Produce P&IDs, PFDs, mass balances, and functional design specifications.
* Support commissioning engineers and troubleshoot process issues on site.
* Collaborate with multi disciplinary teams and participate in HAZOP reviews.
* Provide technical input for operation and maintenance manuals and customer training.
What you will have
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering (or equivalent).
* Minimum 1 year experience in pure water processes within energy markets.
* Strong understanding of engineering calculations and process design principles.
* Proficiency in MS Office; AutoCAD experience desirable.
* Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
* UK driving licence and willingness to travel occasionally.
