Mechanical Estimator – Building Services (Mechanical)

Location: Sittingbourne
Full-time, Permanent

Our client, a growing and well-established building services contractor, is seeking an experienced Mechanical Estimator to join their commercial team. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in securing and delivering a diverse portfolio of mechanical projects within a supportive and collaborative environment.

The Role

As a Mechanical Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for a range of mechanical building services projects. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure robust and commercially viable submissions.

Key Responsibilities

* Prepare detailed cost estimates for mechanical building services projects

* Review drawings, specifications, and tender documentation

* Liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders to gather accurate pricing information

* Source and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors

* Carry out site visits where required

* Manage the tender process from initial enquiry through to final submission

* Compile and present commercial documentation for internal review and approval

* Identify risks, opportunities, and value engineering options within tenders

Requirements

* Proven experience in a Mechanical Estimator role within building services

* Strong understanding of mechanical systems, industry standards, and regulations

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and estimating software

* Ability to manage multiple tenders and work to tight deadlines

* Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills

* Excellent communication and organisational abilities

* High attention to detail and accuracy

* Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
