Job Title: Field Service Engineer
Location: UK-based with international travel
Travel: Majority overseas
We’re currently recruiting for a Field Service Engineer to join a specialist engineering business supporting projects on a global scale. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working on-site, commissioning equipment, and seeing projects through from installation to final handover. The position involves significant international travel and will play a key role in ensuring systems are installed, tested, and operating as intended across customer sites worldwide.
As a Field Service & Commissioning Engineer, you will:
Carry out on-site commissioning activities across international customer sites
Perform device setup, I/O checks, and software fault finding
Support installation, testing, and final system handover
Work from and interpret electrical, pneumatic, and process drawings
Follow structured test procedures and complete documented testing
Carry out device calibration and system validation
Identify and resolve faults across mechanical, electrical, and process systems
Work closely with internal engineering teams and customer representativesWe’re looking for a Field Service Engineer with strong commissioning and fault-finding experience: You will ideally have:
Experience in commissioning or field service engineering within the process engineering industry
Strong understanding of process engineering principles
Experience with device setup, I/O checks, and software fault finding
The ability to read and interpret electrical, pneumatic, GA drawings and P&IDs
Experience following documented test procedures and structured testing
Knowledge of device calibration and validation processes
Strong problem-solving and fault-finding capability
A flexible approach and willingness to travel internationally for extended periodsThe successful Field Service & Commissioning Engineer will ideally hold the below qualifications:
Engineering qualification (HNC/HND, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
Time-served apprenticeship or similar practical training
Previous experience working within a relevant engineering or process environmentWhat’s on offer for the successful Field Service Engineer:
