ROLE: Technical Sales Engineer

The Role
Working closely with Sales, Quality, Sourcing, Supply Chain, and Operations teams, you will play a key role in ensuring customer requirements are translated into successful product introductions and delivered through the supply chain efficiently and accurately.
You will become a technical point of contact within the business, helping to bridge the gap between customer requirements and supplier capability while supporting business growth and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and support the introduction of new products and components into the business
Review technical drawings, specifications, and customer requirements
Support product approval activities including contract reviews, feasibility studies, and validation processes
Coordinate sample submissions, testing activities, and approval documentation
Work closely with suppliers to improve product quality and resolve technical issues
Support customer enquiries and provide technical assistance where required
Collate and analyse technical and quality data to support decision-making
Create and maintain product information within internal systems
Support customer visits and supplier meetings to resolve technical and quality concerns
Assist with continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency
Act as a technical resource for both internal teams and external customers
Identify opportunities to support sales growth through technical expertise and product knowledgeEssential Requirements
Previous experience within an engineering, manufacturing, technical sales, quality, product engineering, or applications engineering environment
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
Understanding of engineering materials and manufacturing processes
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
Excellent communication skills with the confidence to engage with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
Proactive and organised approach to problem-solving
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneouslyDesirable Experience
Knowledge of quality and product approval processes such as APQP, PPAP, FMEA, or equivalent
Understanding of international engineering and quality standards
Experience supporting supplier quality, customer quality, or technical product management activities
Exposure to product testing, inspection, validation, or approval processes
Experience working within engineering, manufacturing, aerospace, automotive, industrial, or other technical environmentsAbout You
You will be a technically minded individual who enjoys solving engineering challenges and building strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and colleagues. Comfortable working across both technical and commercial functions, you will be able to understand customer requirements, interpret technical information, and deliver practical solutions that support business objectives.
