Senior Site ManagerJob Overview

We are seeking an experienced and driven Senior Site Manager to oversee the successful delivery of construction projects from inception through to completion. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing site operations, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

This role is ideal for an established Site Manager looking to take ownership of multiple project phases and lead site teams on residential, commercial, refurbishment, and new-build developments.

Key Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day site operations and construction activities.

Ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme, and within budget.

Lead and coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and direct labour.

Develop and maintain project programmes and short-term work schedules.

Monitor project progress and report regularly to senior management.

Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with drawings, specifications, and building regulations.

Maintain high standards of health, safety, quality, and environmental compliance.

Conduct site inspections, toolbox talks, and safety briefings.

Manage site logistics, materials, and resource allocation.

Identify and resolve site issues proactively to minimise delays.

Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and stakeholders.

Assist with project planning, risk management, and value engineering initiatives.

Support the successful handover and completion of projects.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Site Manager or Senior Site Manager within the construction industry.

Strong knowledge of construction processes, methods, and regulations.

Experience managing residential, commercial, refurbishment, or mixed-use projects.

Excellent leadership and people management skills.

Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Full UK Driving Licence.

Qualifications

SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) – Essential.

CSCS Black or White Card – Essential.

First Aid at Work – Essential.

NVQ Level 6 in Construction Site Management or equivalent – Desirable.

Personal Attributes

Strong leadership presence.

Proactive and solutions-focused.

High attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Commercially aware and results-driven.

Able to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
