Location: Darlington Hours: Monday to Friday,

Overview
We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist with offline programming capability to join our engineering team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working on precision components, programming using CAM software, and wants a stable Monday-Friday day shift with no nights or weekends.
Key Responsibilities
Set, operate and program CNC machines (Milling and/or Turning depending on skillset).
Produce offline CNC programs using CAM software (e.g., EdgeCAM, MasterCAM, Fusion 360, SolidCAM).
Interpret engineering drawings, models and technical specifications.
Select tooling, speeds and feeds to achieve required tolerances.
Carry out first‑off inspections and ensure parts meet quality standards.
Work closely with engineering and production teams to optimise machining processes.
Maintain accurate documentation and follow company quality procedures.
Perform basic machine maintenance and ensure a safe working environment.Skills & Experience Required
Proven experience as a CNC Machinist (Miller, Turner or both).
Strong experience with offline programming using CAM software.
Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings.
Knowledge of Fanuc, Heidenhain or Mazak controls (specify if needed).
Experience working to tight tolerances in a precision engineering environment.
Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently on a day‑shift pattern.Desirable
Experience with 4‑axis or 5‑axis machining.
Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
Experience in aerospace, automotive, oil & gas or high‑precision manufacturing.Benefits
