Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Quantity Surveyor to join our growing construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the contractual and financial side of construction projects, ensuring they are delivered on budget while maintaining quality and compliance standards.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused professional looking to play a key role in a variety of residential, commercial, and refurbishment projects.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and tender documentation.
Manage project costs from inception through to completion.
Procure subcontractors and suppliers, including obtaining and evaluating quotations.
Prepare, negotiate, and administer subcontract agreements.
Monitor project expenditure and cash flow.
Conduct valuations and prepare interim and final accounts.
Identify, manage, and value variations and change orders.
Prepare cost reports and forecasts for management.
Ensure contractual compliance and manage risk throughout projects.
Liaise with clients, project managers, site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Support project delivery by providing commercial and financial guidance.
Assist in dispute resolution and claims management where required.
Requirements
Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
Minimum 3 years' experience in a Quantity Surveyor role within the construction industry.
Strong understanding of construction contracts and commercial management.
Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong analytical and numerical skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Full UK driving licence.
Desirable
Membership of RICS or working towards chartered status.
Experience in residential construction, refurbishments, and commercial projects.
Experience using construction estimating and cost management software.
