Project Officer (Plan Making) - Spatial Planning
Location: Croydon (Hybrid - 3 days WFH, 2 days onsite at Bernard Weatherill House)
Contract: Temporary (3 months)
Hours: 36 hours per week, Monday-Friday
Pay Rate: £23.27 per hour PAYE / £30.31 per hour Umbrella
Adecco are recruiting on behalf of Croydon Council for a Project Officer (Plan Making) to join their Spatial Planning team. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the development of the Local Plan and support key planning policy projects within a dynamic local authority environment.
The Role
You will play a crucial role in supporting the delivery of the Local Plan and other spatial planning projects. This includes ensuring projects are delivered on time, to a high standard, and within budget, in line with the Local Plan Programme.
Key responsibilities include:
Supporting the production and review of the Local Plan and related policy documents
Managing and coordinating project activities, including research and consultation processes
Assisting with the preparation and presentation of Main Modifications for submission to Planning Inspectors
Coordinating documentation for the Examination in Public, including maintaining the Examination library and webpage
Providing support for additional hearing sessions
Handling public enquiries, including sensitive or complex cases
Supporting fee-earning spatial planning projects for the Council
Key Skills & Experience
Basic project management experience
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Word
Strong organisational and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Experience responding to public enquiries (including complex cases)
Understanding of planning policy and spatial planning processes (desirable)
