We're looking for a Senior Employee Relations Advisor for a public sector organisation based in Exeter (hybrid) on an initial 6-month contract, paying up to £300 per day.
This is a hybrid role with one day per week on site in Exeter.
The successful Senior Employee Relations Advisor will lead the ER function within a busy People team, managing complex casework up to Employment Tribunal level while supervising colleagues and continuously developing the casework approach. You'll engage with stakeholders up to Executive level, manage the relationship with the recognised Trade Union, and drive service improvement across the ER offering through coaching, people metrics, and innovative working practices.
You will need proven experience working with the following:
- Complex ER casework management, including Employment Tribunal experience
- Employment law knowledge and the ability to keep current with legislative change
- Trade Union relationship management
- Stakeholder engagement up to Executive level
- Coaching and decision-making in an HR or ER context
You'll also need practical exposure to people-focused advisory work, including areas such as:
- People metrics and reporting
- OH and EAP contract management
- Continuous improvement within an HR or ER function
- Cross-industry ER experience
A CIPD qualification would be highly desirable.
You'll need to hold or be eligible to obtain SC clearance.
