Brief Summary

To ensure all goods entering BNAL are booked in accurately, all visiting drivers are compliant with site safety rules, and all loads are booked out correctly. The role maintains accurate weighbridge records, supports Material Handling operations, and ensures safe, compliant and efficient movement of goods across the site.

Main Duties

Weighbridge Operations

Operate and manage the Avery Weighman system to accurately measure and record weights

Identify and resolve issues in the weighing process

Conduct regular inspections and basic maintenance of weighbridge equipment

Ensure compliance with weight regulations and industry standards

Record vehicle weights, driver details (including passports for despatch), load information and issue weighbridge tickets

Maintain accurate records of all weighbridge transactions

Book in and out dross, skips and environmental deliveries

Driver & Visitor Management

Ensure all visiting drivers are fully aware of site safety rules (speed limits, PPE, platform use)

Induct and book in visitors/contractors as required

Act as gatekeeper to ensure all goods are booked in accurately and paperwork is correct

Goods In / Goods Out

Print, label and check slab references as they enter site

Correct any issues or place goods on hold where required

Accurately book deliveries using the correct customer and haulier details

Ensure slabs are labelled correctly before arriving on B2 yard

Operational Support

Provide operational support to Material Handling during non‑peak times and weekends

Participate in HS meetings, SQCDP, quality meetings and departmental activities

Complete FLT checklists and ensure safe operational practices

Be trained on FLT and all logistical duties up to Senior Operator level

Responsibilities / Accountability / KPI’s

Health & Safety

All employees are required to comply with Bridgnorth Aluminium’s Health and Safety Policy, procedures and assessments, to actively contribute to maintaining a safe and healthy working environment. This includes taking reasonable care of their own health and safety, as well as that of others who may be affected by their actions or omissions, in accordance with Section 7 of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974. Employees must cooperate fully with the Company to ensure compliance with all statutory obligations and internal procedures. In line with Section 8 of the Act, employees must not intentionally or recklessly interfere with or misuse anything provided in the interests of health, safety, or welfare.

All employees are expected to report any incidents, near misses, hazards, or unsafe practices promptly and accurately, and to complete all required health and safety training relevant to their role. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn and maintained in accordance with company policy. Employees must follow all site rules, signage, and instructions, and demonstrate a proactive attitude toward risk reduction and safe working practices.

Qualifications / Experience / Knowledge

Essential

Experience in logistics, material handling or warehouse coordination in a manufacturing/industrial environment

Strong knowledge of health & safety practices and environmental compliance

Understanding of inventory management and stock control systems

Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team

Strong organisational and communication skills

Competence with relevant IT systems (Avery Weighman, BAOPS, MS Office, etc.)

Role is gatehouse‑based with additional weekend support to Material Handling

PPE required and full adherence to site safety regulations

Desirable

Previous weighbridge experience

Forklift Truck Licence (Counterbalance or others)

Knowledge of aluminium handling processes
