Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Commercial Site Labourer to join our construction team. The successful candidate will assist with the day-to-day operations of a commercial construction site, ensuring work areas are maintained safely and efficiently while supporting tradespeople and site management as required.
Key Responsibilities
Assisting skilled tradespeople with construction activities.
Loading, unloading, and moving construction materials around the site.
Maintaining site cleanliness and ensuring work areas remain tidy and hazard-free.
Carrying out general labouring duties, including digging, lifting, and manual handling.
Assisting with site setup, fencing, barriers, and signage.
Operating basic hand and power tools safely and effectively.
Removing waste materials and disposing of them in designated areas.
Supporting deliveries and checking materials received on site.
Following all health and safety procedures, site rules, and company policies.
Reporting hazards, incidents, and unsafe conditions to site management.
Assisting with traffic management and pedestrian safety where required.
Undertaking additional duties as directed by the Site Manager or Supervisor.
Requirements
Essential
Previous experience working on a construction or commercial building site.
Valid CSCS Card.
Good understanding of health and safety regulations.
Ability to carry out physically demanding work.
Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team.
Strong communication skills.
Desirable
Manual Handling certification.
Traffic Marshal/Banksman qualification.
First Aid certification.
Experience using construction tools and equipment.
Relevant plant operator tickets (e.g., Dumper, Roller, Telehandler)
