Mechanical Design Engineer role

Role – Mechanical Design Engineer
Location – Norfolk
Working hours – Monday to Friday – 8.30am – 5pm
Capacity of role – Permanent position
Salary – Up to £40,000 per annum

Our client is a well-respected manufacturer who is currently looking to add to their drawing office with a Mechanical Design Engineer.

Main duties will include –
 Generation of detailed manufacturing drawings for internal and external production
 Creation of bill of materials for special product and procurement as required
 Creation to overall design and assembly drawings to define customer specifications
 Customer liaison to ensure the smooth production process
 Liaising with all departments to ensure delivery times are met and upheld
 Continuous improvement of existing product range.

Candidate attributes –
 A sound background in mechanical engineering, with good knowledge of mechanisms, fabricated assemblies and sheet metalwork
 The ability to quickly and effectively design customised variants from a standard product range
 The ability to prioritise workload and deal efficiently with multiple projects.
 Excellent working knowledge of Solidworks 3D CAD or similar,
 Able to produce effective, detailed manufacturing information on time
 Working knowledge of Machinery Standards and relevant legislation
 Able to work as part of a small team
 Excellent communication skills
