Job Description: Support Worker
### Role Overview
Support Worker to deliver person-centred support within Supported Living services for individuals with Learning Disabilities and Autism. The role focuses on promoting independence, safety, wellbeing and positive daily living routines across days, nights and weekends.
### Key Responsibilities
Provide compassionate, respectful support in a Supported Living setting, promoting independence and choice.
Support individuals with Learning Disabilities and Autism to engage in daily activities, learning opportunities and community inclusion.
Use break away techniques and de-escalation strategies to manage periods of distress safely and effectively.
Maintain professional boundaries, dignity and confidentiality at all times.
Support with personal care, medication prompts (where applicable), and daily living tasks.
Encourage positive communication, routines and engagement using individualised support plans.
Monitor behaviour and document observations accurately in line with service requirements.
Work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team, communicating changes in needs promptly.
Support risk management and safe working practices, reporting incidents and concerns appropriately.

### Essential Requirements
Experience in care/support work, ideally within Learning Disabilities and/or Autism services.
Knowledge and practical understanding of break away techniques and de-escalation methods.
Ability to build trust with individuals and support them in a consistent, person-centred way.
Strong communication skills and the ability to follow care and behaviour support plans.
Willingness to work flexible shifts, including days, nights and weekends.
### Desirable
Relevant qualifications (e.g., Health & Social Care) or training in Autism support, safeguarding and behaviour support.
Experience within Supported Living environments.
### Personal Qualities
Patient, calm under pressure and committed to safe, respectful support.
Empathetic and proactive, with a strong focus on outcomes and individual preferences.
Reliable team player with good documentation and communication habits.
