Systems Engineer
Location: New Malden (Hybrid Working)
Salary: £65,000 - £72,000
The Opportunity
Our client, a leading organisation within the defence and technology sector, is seeking a talented Systems Engineer to join their growing engineering team.
This is an excellent opportunity to work on complex, high-impact programmes supporting critical national infrastructure and defence capabilities. You will play a key role across the full systems engineering lifecycle, contributing to the successful delivery of advanced technology solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and deliver systems engineering work packages across the full project lifecycle
Produce and review technical documentation in line with programme milestones
Plan and support key design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR)
Manage technical aspects of suppliers, ensuring alignment with requirements and design baselines
Review and assure technical documentation from internal and external stakeholders
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including Hardware, Software, V&V, ILS, Cybersecurity and Safety
Provide technical leadership to ensure delivery to time, cost and quality
Support risk management, bid activity and estimation processes
Required Experience
Essential:
Degree in Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or similar
Experience in systems engineering within defence, aerospace, maritime, or another regulated environment
Strong understanding of requirements management, system design, integration and acceptance
Experience with control systems, PLC/SCADA and operational technology
Familiarity with model-based design tools (e.g. Enterprise Architect)
Experience using requirements management tools such as DOORS
Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
Understanding of safety-critical or regulated systemsDesirable:
Knowledge of verification and validation (V&V), including environmental and EMC testing
Professional accreditation (e.g. INCOSE ASE/CSEP)
Experience working within a marine or defence environment
Security Requirements
Due to the nature of the work, applicants must be eligible to obtain and maintain UK Security Clearance (SC).
