Overview

EMBS Engineering Ltd is working in partnership with a leading UK logistics and multimodal transport operator that is currently recruiting experienced Mechanical Fitters (HGV Technicians) across its Scottish operations. Operating one of the UK's largest integrated road and rail logistics networks, our client has built a reputation for operational excellence, technical expertise, and continuous investment in both its fleet and engineering infrastructure. With sites across Scotland and England, they provide a stable and progressive working environment for skilled engineering professionals.

Due to continued growth and investment in their engineering operations, our client is seeking experienced Mechanical Fitters to support the maintenance and repair of a diverse commercial fleet and associated equipment.

Your responsibilities will include:

* Carry out diagnostics and fault finding on commercial vehicles

* Complete servicing, maintenance, and repair work across the fleet

* Maintain and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems

* Work on air brake systems including ABS and EBS

* Conduct engine and driveline repairs and overhauls

* Install and repair electrical wiring and vehicle systems

* Prepare vehicles for MOT inspections

* Perform preventative maintenance activities

* Support wider engineering operations when required

* Ensure all work complies with health, safety, and company standards

* Successful applicants must be able to demonstrate:

* Time-served HGV Technician, Commercial Vehicle Technician, or Mechanical Fitter

* background

* City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent engineering qualification

* Experience servicing and repairing commercial vehicles

* Strong diagnostic and fault-finding capabilities

* Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and air brake systems

* Ability to work independently and within a shift team environment

* Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
