Overview
We are currently seeking experienced Scaffolders to support major engineering and manufacturing projects in Barrow. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe erection, modification, inspection and dismantling of scaffolding structures, ensuring all work is completed to the highest safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Erect, alter and dismantle tube & clip and system scaffolding (Layher).
Read and interpret drawings, specifications and work instructions.
Carry out scaffold inspections prior to handover.
Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with site procedures and industry standards.
Use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
Maintain safe working areas and provide protection for personnel working at height.
Support lifting, material handling and general site activities where required.
Essential Requirements
NVQ Level 2 Scaffolding qualification.
CISRS Scaffolder Card (or equivalent accreditation).
Previous experience working in industrial, construction, manufacturing or shipbuilding environments.
Strong understanding of health and safety regulations.
Ability to work at height and within a team environment.
Desirable Experience
Advanced Scaffolder experience.
Slinger/Signaller certification.
Forklift, MEWP, Cherry Picker or Scissor Lift licences.
Experience using safety harnesses and fall protection equipment.
Previous experience within large-scale engineering or heavy industrial projects.
Key Competencies
Strong commitment to health, safety and environmental standards.
Ability to follow technical drawings and specifications.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Proactive approach to problem solving.
High attention to detail and quality standards.
