Estimator – Civil Engineering & Infrastructure (Water Sector)
The Opportunity
A leading UK civil engineering and infrastructure contractor is looking for an Estimator to join its established team, supporting the delivery of major water and wastewater projects through a long-term alliance framework. Working alongside bid managers, planners, procurement and operational teams, you'll prepare competitive estimates and help secure future work across a range of civil engineering projects, including pipelines, shafts, tunnelling, MEICA, rail civils and groundworks.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare accurate cost estimates from PQQ, ITT and tender documentation.
* Complete quantity take-offs and review Bills of Quantities.
* Develop risk, opportunity and assumptions registers.
* Collaborate with bid, procurement and delivery teams.
* Present estimates during tender adjudications.
* Support project handovers and provide ongoing estimating support.
Requirements
Essential:
* Estimating and/or operational experience in water, pipelines, shafts, tunnelling, MEICA, rail civils or groundworks.
* Strong understanding of construction methods and resource requirements.
* Experience producing tender build-ups.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and estimating software.
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Desirable:
* Chartered Engineer status or equivalent.
