The Role
We're looking for an experienced Senior Content Designer to join a high-profile government programme focused on cyber security and digital service transformation. You'll play a critical role in shaping clear, user-focused content for complex, technical services that have real-world impact.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who combines strong content design expertise with technical understanding and leadership capability, particularly within secure or government environments.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the design and delivery of high-quality, user-centred content across digital services
Translate complex cyber security and technical concepts into clear, accessible language
Ensure all content aligns with GOV.UK style, service standards, and accessibility guidelines (WCAG)
Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams including designers, developers, product managers, and security specialists
Conduct and apply user research insights to inform content decisions
Provide leadership, mentoring, and guidance to junior content designers and wider teams
Act as a subject matter expert in content design best practices and accessibility standards
Ideal Skills Experience
Proven experience as a Senior Content Designer within government or public sector/secure environments
Strong background in cyber security, digital security, or technical domains
Demonstrable experience as a technical writer, producing clear documentation and user-facing content
In-depth knowledge of GOV.UK content standards and accessibility guidelines (WCAG)
Experience applying user-centred design principles
Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills
Previous experience in leadership, mentoring, or team management
