Are you an aspiring NPD professional looking to build your career within a leading bakery manufacturer?
This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced and supportive development team, creating innovative bakery and ambient products for major customers. Based in Glasgow, you'll gain exposure to the full concept-to-launch process whilst working closely with customers and cross-functional teams. This role would suit a graduate or someone with up to two years of NPD experience who is passionate about food and eager to develop within a customer-facing environment.
You will be responsible for, but not limited to:
• Supporting the development of new and existing products from concept through to launch
• Working closely with customers to understand briefs and deliver commercially successful products
• Preparing samples and supporting customer presentations and product reviews
• Assisting with factory trials and ensuring products are successfully scaled into production
• Collaborating with technical, process, operations, and commercial teams to deliver projects on time
• Benchmarking competitor products and identifying emerging trends and opportunities
• Maintaining accurate project documentation and supporting critical path activities
• Working with suppliers to source ingredients and support development projects
• Ensuring products meet quality, technical, and commercial requirements
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and contributing ideas to the wider team
• Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders and customers to ensure successful project delivery
What's required?
• A degree in Food Science or a related discipline
• Graduate level or up to two years' experience within NPD or food manufacturing
• A passion for bakery products and food innovation
• Excellent communication skills with the confidence to work with customers and stakeholders
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
• A proactive and enthusiastic approach with a willingness to learn
• Good attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities
• The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• A customer-focused mindset and a passion for delivering high-quality products
