We are seeking an experienced CDM Site Supervisor to support a prestigious cultural project in Central London.
This is a unique opportunity to work on a major museum fit-out project, acting as the key link between the client team and the Principal Contractor, ensuring the safe movement and installation of valuable artefacts within a live construction environment.
Location
Central London
Contract Duration
22 June 2026 – End of September 2026 (with the possibility of extending into October)
Hours
Full-time, Monday to Friday
8:00am – 5:00/5:30pm
The Role
Working alongside the client's internal team, you will provide site supervision and health & safety oversight throughout the fit-out phase. This is not a Construction Manager position; the client team are experts in their collections and artefacts and require a construction-focused professional to help manage safe working practices within the live site environment.
You will act as the primary liaison between the client team and the Principal Contractor, ensuring all activities are carried out safely and in accordance with site procedures.
Key Responsibilities
* Open and close the client's designated work area each day
* Act as Fire Marshal, including headcounts and emergency procedures
* Monitor subcontractor compliance with RAMS and safe systems of work
* Oversee high-risk activities, including work at height associated with large object installations
* Manage and coordinate the safe movement of artefacts and exhibits through the construction site
* Attend contractor briefings and communicate relevant updates to the client team
* Serve as the day-to-day point of contact between the Principal Contractor and the client team
* Escort non-CSCS visitors including designers, press representatives, donors and other stakeholders around site
* Remain available throughout the working day while operating from the contractor's site office
Project Environment
* Up to 15 workers on site between July and October
* Work will take place within a segregated, fenced-off area
* Generally low-risk activities, with occasional higher-risk installation works requiring supervision
Candidate Requirements
* Previous experience supervising fit-out projects
* Strong understanding of CDM regulations and construction site health & safety
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
* Proactive approach with the ability to coordinate multiple parties effectively
* Strong negotiation and problem-solving abilities
* Own laptop required
* Experience or interest in cultural, museum, heritage, or exhibition projects would be advantageous
