Are you a recent graduate or early-career professional with a passion for engineering, science, safety, and problem-solving?
We're looking for a motivated and ambitious Graduate / Junior Process Safety Advisor to join a growing Process Safety team supporting the safe manufacture and processing of explosive and other hazardous materials.
You'll play a key role in ensuring that high-hazard operations, new facilities, and innovative manufacturing processes are designed and operated safely, protecting both people and the environment.
Working within a highly regulated industry, you'll contribute to major business improvement projects involving energetic materials, advanced manufacturing technologies, and complex engineering challenges.
This is an excellent opportunity to develop specialist expertise in process safety while working alongside experienced professionals on projects that have a direct impact on the future of the business.
Reporting to the Process Safety Manager, this role has been designed to support professional development and offers significant opportunities for learning, training, and career progression.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Process Safety Advisor, you'll support the safe design, development, and operation of manufacturing processes and facilities. Your responsibilities will include:
Supporting process safety activities across new projects and existing operations
Assisting with safety studies such as HAZOPs, Layers of Protection Analysis (LOPA), and other risk assessments
Helping ensure compliance with relevant UK safety legislation and regulatory requirements
Contributing to Management of Change (MoC) activities for process and equipment modifications
Working closely with engineering, production, and project teams to embed safety into designs and operational improvements
Supporting the development of safety documentation, reports, and regulatory submissions
Participating in investigations of incidents, near misses, and safety improvement activities
Assisting with Human Factors assessments and safety-critical task analysis
Engaging with suppliers and stakeholders to ensure safety requirements are incorporated into projects
Learning from experienced specialists and developing expertise in process safety management

Essential Qualifications
HNC/HND, Degree, or equivalent qualification in an Engineering or Science-related discipline

Health and Safety qualification (or willingness to work towards one)
Knowledge & Experience
We welcome applications from graduates and junior professionals. Experience in process safety is not essential, but the following would be advantageous:
Industrial placement, internship, or work experience within manufacturing, engineering, chemical processing, energy, defence, pharmaceutical, or other high-hazard industries
Understanding of risk assessment or hazard analysis techniques
