Are you a Geotechnical Engineer looking to work on complex infrastructure projects that make a real difference to the UK's sustainable future?

We are seeking a motivated Geotechnical Engineer with 2-5 years' experience to join a growing team in Basingstoke. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a talented environmental consultancy delivering innovative geotechnical solutions across major rail and infrastructure projects nationwide.

Working alongside experienced geotechnical, geoenvironmental, and environmental specialists, you will play a key role in the design, analysis, and delivery of projects that support sustainable development and the transition to greener transport networks.

The Role

As a Geotechnical Engineer, you will be involved in a broad range of technical and project delivery activities, including:

Geotechnical design and assessment for rail and infrastructure projects
Numerical modelling and analysis using PLAXIS 2D
Interpretation of ground investigation data and preparation of geotechnical reports
Slope stability, retaining structure, embankment, and foundation assessments
Supporting project management and client liaison activities
Working closely with multidisciplinary environmental and engineering teams
Site visits and technical supervision where required
Contributing to sustainable engineering solutions and best-practice design approachesRequirements

Degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Engineering Geology, or a related discipline
2-5 years' relevant consultancy experience
Experience working on rail or infrastructure projects
Proficiency with PLAXIS 2D
Strong understanding of UK geotechnical design standards and ground investigation practices
Excellent report writing and communication skills
