Are you an experienced Production Engineer looking for your next challenge within a well-established engineering and manufacturing environment?
Our client, a leading manufacturer operating within the medium to heavy engineering sector, is seeking a skilled Production Engineer to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in improving manufacturing processes, supporting production operations, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Production Engineer Role:
Reporting to the Production Engineering Manager, you will provide technical support across all areas of production, ensuring manufacturing processes are efficient, cost-effective, and delivered to the highest quality standards.
Production Engineer Key Responsibilities:
Create and maintain manufacturing process specifications
Develop and manage routings, BOMs, production orders, and costings
Support manufacturing operations with technical expertise and problem-solving
Optimise production processes to improve efficiency, capability, and yield
Utilise CAD software, including SolidWorks, for engineering and manufacturing support
Work closely with Purchasing, Engineering, Production, and other stakeholders
Support continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, and waste reduction initiatives
Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures at all times
Production Engineer – What We Want:
We are looking for a motivated and experienced Production Engineer who can work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.
Essential Production Engineer Skills & Experience
Minimum 5 years' experience within a Production Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering role
Experience within a medium to heavy engineering environment
Strong understanding of CNC machining processes, including:
4 and 5-axis machining
CNC lathes
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
SolidWorks 3D CAD experience
Experience creating BOMs, routings, and manufacturing documentation
Knowledge of ERP systems, ideally SAP
Strong project management and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and organisational abilities
Desirable Production Engineer experience
Knowledge of hard surface welding methods
Experience preparing manufacturing costings
Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement experience
Production Engineer Qualifications
Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent machining-based qualification
HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or similar discipline preferred
