We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join an innovative engineering team developing advanced RF, microwave, aerospace, defence and telecommunications products.
Key Responsibilities
* Design precision mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorks.
* Develop lightweight, thermally efficient enclosures, heatsinks and structural assemblies.
* Conduct thermal and structural analysis (FEA/CFD) to validate designs.
* Work closely with RF, electronics and manufacturing teams to optimise product performance.
* Produce engineering drawings, BOMs and manufacturing documentation.
* Support prototype builds, testing, production introduction and engineering change activities.
* Drive design for manufacture, assembly, reliability and cost reduction.
Requirements
* Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
* Strong 3D CAD skills, ideally SolidWorks.
* Experience designing precision mechanical assemblies.
* Good understanding of manufacturing processes, materials and GD&T.
* Knowledge of PCB integration, EMI shielding and engineering drawing standards.
* Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Desirable
* Experience within aerospace, defence, telecoms, space or other high-reliability industries.
* Knowledge of RF/microwave products, waveguides or high-frequency systems.
* Experience with FEA, CFD or thermal analysis tools.
* Familiarity with PDM/PLM systems and engineering change processes.
