New Chapter Tuition is seeking a dedicated Learning Mentor to support a vulnerable young person on a full-time, 1:1 basis from September.

The learner has an EHCP for SEMH, alongside diagnoses of Autism and ADHD. We are looking for someone who can build positive relationships, support emotional regulation, advocate for the young person's needs, and help them engage successfully in education.

The Role

* Provide full-time 1:1 support.

* Build a positive and trusting relationship.

* Support engagement and participation in education.

* Use effective de-escalation and behaviour support strategies.

* Assess and manage risk appropriately.

* Advocate for the young person's needs.

* Complete daily logs and progress records.

* Work closely with school staff, families and professionals.

Ideal Backgrounds

* Learning Mentor

* Youth Worker

* Youth Offending Service

* Sports Coach

* Behaviour Mentor

* Teaching Assistant

* Alternative Provision

* Outreach Worker

* Psychology Graduate with relevant experience

* Criminology Graduate with relevant experience

Essential Requirements

* Experience supporting children or young people.

* Knowledge of SEMH, Autism and/or ADHD.

* Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

* Trauma-informed approach.

* Enhanced Child and Adult Workforce DBS or willing to apply.

* Right to Work in the UK.
