Sheet Metal Worker - Govan
We are looking for experienced Sheet Metal Workers to carry out fabrication, assembly, and installation activities within a heavy engineering environment, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Interpret and work from fabrication and installation drawings.
Perform sheet metal fabrication, assembly, and fitting activities using a range of hand tools and techniques.
Follow manufacturing processes and maintain compliance with safety, health, and environmental (SHE) requirements.
Work collaboratively with supervisors and other trades to resolve practical production issues.
Maintain quality standards and work within specified tolerances.
Support the development of apprentices by sharing trade knowledge and best practices.
Adapt to evolving technologies, drawings, and industry work practices.Knowledge & Skills:
Good knowledge of sheet metal fabrication and associated trade practices.
Understanding of quality standards and work tolerances.
Ability to read and interpret fabrication and installation drawings.
Strong hand skills for assembly and fabrication tasks.
Good understanding of manufacturing processes.
Strong SHE risk awareness and commitment to safe working practices.
Effective communication, reliability, and practical problem-solving abilities.Qualifications:
Recognised trade papers/apprenticeship certification.
Relevant safety certifications, such as SHE induction, COSHH awareness, Working at Height, or equivalent
