Trainee Estimator, Technical Sales & Designer
Location: Office-based
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Hours: 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm). Some flexibility may be required.
Salary
£26,000 per annum, with flexibility to offer a higher salary for the right candidate.
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to begin or develop a career within the construction industry, working across estimating, technical sales, and design. The role offers exposure to a broad range of projects and provides excellent opportunities to develop technical knowledge while supporting customers and internal teams.
You will assist with preparing estimates, producing technical designs, and following up enquiries with customers, gaining valuable experience across multiple aspects of the business.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist in preparing accurate project estimates and quotations.
* Support the design process for a variety of construction projects.
* Follow up customer enquiries and quotations via telephone and email.
* Provide technical sales support to customers and internal teams.
* Review drawings, specifications, and project information.
* Maintain accurate project records and documentation.
* Work closely with colleagues to ensure projects progress efficiently.
* Develop technical product knowledge and industry understanding.
* Deliver excellent customer service throughout the sales process.
Skills & Experience
Essential
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Good numerical and analytical ability.
* Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
* Confident using Microsoft Office applications.
* A willingness to learn and develop within a technical environment.
* Positive attitude with a proactive approach to work.
Desirable
* Previous experience in estimating, sales support, design, or construction (not essential).
* Ability to interpret technical drawings or construction specifications.
* Interest in construction, engineering, or technical design.
