We are working with a highly respected consultancy supporting complex and safety-critical projects within the nuclear sector. They are seeking a Buyer to join their collaborative and professional procurement team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys structured, project-based procurement and wants to be part of an environment where quality, compliance, and precision are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver procurement activities for assigned projects in line with programme, budget, and technical specifications.
Prepare and issue RFQs/ITTs based on project requirements.
Ensure technical and commercial compliance requirements are met at the RFQ stage.
Evaluate quotations using approved templates and prepare tender evaluations.
Maintain Procurement Schedules with regular updates to the Project Manager.
Ensure timely placement of purchase orders with all contractual and technical requirements.
Expedite orders as required to support project delivery.
Resolve routine supplier issues and escalate complex matters where appropriate.

Job Requirements:

Understanding of commercial, technical, and quality requirements in procurement.
Experience in project-based procurement in engineering, construction, defence, or manufacturing environments.
Strong communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to manage multiple sourcing packages concurrently.
High attention to detail and strong organisational discipline.
Able to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Proficient in procurement systems, Microsoft Office, and document management tools.
Reliable, methodical approach to documentation and record management.

Qualifications:

CIPS Level 4 (or equivalent)
IOSH Managing Safely or Level 2 Health & Safety in the Workplace (or equivalent) - Relevant training will be provided if required
