A leading civil engineering contractor is seeking an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team in Manchester.
Responsibilities of Managing Quantity Surveyor:
* Provide accurate and timely cost and value reporting at both project and business unit levels
* Draft and update monthly CVRs, cost and commercial plans, and cash flow reports
* Compile upstream applications for payment through to final account settlement
* Manage subcontract procurement, negotiation, and financial accounting
* Liaise with clients and third parties on commercial issues including contractual change, claims, and additional payment
* Effectively manage contract and subcontract agreements, primarily IChemE and NEC forms
* Ensure supply chain is engaged with correct contract terms and conditions, maintaining strong relationships
* Support all internal commercial processes, ensuring adherence to timeframes and compliance
* Identify and realise commercial opportunities whilst protecting the business from commercial risk
* Share best practice and proactively advise site teams on cost management and efficiencies
Essential Requirements for Managing Quantity Surveyor:
* Previous experience in the construction industry in a commercial role
* Familiarity with IChemE and NEC forms of contract and knowledge of Construction Law
* Proven experience in commercial management and subcontractor procurement
* Demonstrable experience of monthly forecasting and cost analysis
* Excellent communication, numerical, and IT skills including Microsoft Office
* Strong organisation and time management skills
